Get Ready for Runday's Race for Equality

This Saturday at 10:00, all Runday locations across Ukraine will host a special event: the Race for Equality. Just a friendly reminder — clocks go back this weekend, so make sure to show up on time!

While you prepare your running shoes, we bring you an inspiring story of one of Trukhaniv Island's fastest participants: Anna Efimenko. In this short but meaningful interview, Anna shares her journey in sport and her impressions about Runday.

Who is Anna Efimenko?

Runner by Passion, Geologist by Profession. Anna enjoys running not only as a sport but as a way of life. When she’s not training or racing, she works as a professional geologist.

From Orienteering to Podiums

With over 8 years of experience in orienteering (with the KMS qualification) and 5 years of amateur athletics under her belt, Anna is a true competitor. She's a three-time winner of the Kharkiv International Marathon and frequently secures podium places in races across Kyiv and beyond.

Her Journey with Runday

Anna discovered Runday through Facebook and ran her first volunteer shift in May 2018. She's already taken part in around 12 races and her primary goal is always the same: run her personal best every time.

"I'm an experienced runner, and Runday isn’t the first event where I’ve covered 5 km. But it has a special atmosphere."

What Keeps Her Running?

She finds inspiration in her coaches and teammates at Track & Speed, a running club that plays a major role in her progress and discipline. When asked what goes through her mind during a race, Anna reflects:

"I often think about the long journey I’ve taken in sports. These memories fuel my motivation to run faster."

Why Trukhaniv Island?

Anna loves the location: "It’s close to home, and the course is really comfortable to run. Runday is a place to connect with fellow runners and sometimes chase a personal record."
